Marysville WA Real Estate and General Information

Are you looking for a home in Marysville, Washington?  I will help you find just what you want with my extensive experience in the area's real estate.

Nicknamed the Strawberry City for the many strawberry farms that once surrounded the town, Marysville has grown to a city in Snohomish County with over 36,000 residents as of 2007.

Traditions
Every year in June since 1932, Marysville holds the Strawberry Festival involving a grand parade through town.  In August, Marysville has the Summer Jubilee, an event which offers free school supplies and haircuts for children in the community, drawing over 10,000 visitors to Asbery Field each year.  Other annual events include the Poochapalooza Outdoor Dog Event with various competitions and all sorts of goodies; the Homegrown Festival, a marketplace and street fair with local produce, artisans and musicians; and the Merrysville for the Holidays Winter Celebration & Electric Lights Parade, full of food, fun, music, a parade of lights, and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Education
Due to vast geographical growth via annexations in the past decade, the city of Marysville went from being served by one school district to being served by four.  The city's original school system was the Marysville School District, which hosts the second-largest high school in the state.  The other school systems are Lake Stevens School District with 11 schools, Lakewood School District with 2,500 students in five schools, and Arlington School District, which enrolls nearly 6,000 students in 10 schools.  Within 40 miles of Marysville, 20 colleges, universities and trade schools can be found, including Everett Community College in Snohomish County.  Other institutions nearby include the well-known Seattle Pacific University, Northwest University and University of Washington at Bothell.

Recreation
Marysville offers six parks and an athletic complex.  The parks range from skate parks to nature parks and are often host sites for community concerts and events.  The unique Marysville Skatepark has 10,000 square feet of concrete with something for all skaters, regardless of age or skill and it features a street-style course that combines  bowls, ramps, handrails, pyramids, steps and ledges.  Summer music concerts are held in the parks and bring all sorts of music, such as big band, Latin infusion, Beatles covers, rock, gypsy jazz, symphonic and reggae.
